Progetto Scuole

In line with previous experiences that, in the winter of 2022/23, saw more than 1,000 high school students involved in the ‘Ski World Cup’ and ‘Paralympic Ski World Cup’ events, Fondazione Cortina intends to strengthen a path of involvement of students from schools in the Belluno, Treviso and Venice areas, conveying the Olympic and Paralympic values that will characterise the territory’s approach to the future Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina 2026.

Specifically, for the 2023/24 season, secondary school children have been involved in the “Integrally Special Paralympic Skiing” programme with awareness-raising meetings on the theme of inclusiveness developed with Assi Onlus; for secondary school children, the “Sport per la Vita: Valori in Azione” programme has been devised in synergy with Assi Onlus and FISI Veneto, thanks to which they will meet the young athletes from the Veneto region in the disciplines of snow and ice, already Ambassadors of the Cortina Foundation with the “Progetto Giovani“.

During the 2023/24 season, the Schools Project reached, with its 19 meetings, about 1,800 children and young people from institutions of various grades, from kindergartens to ITS and University, from the Belluno area and the entire Veneto region. Each appointment was a valuable opportunity to bring the youngest participants closer to the values of sport, mountain culture and the importance of community participation, also through the direct testimonies of young athletes from the Veneto region in snow and ice sports, already Ambassadors of the Fondazione Cortina with the ”Progetto Giovani”, and the speeches of organisations and institutions on important life issues. In addition, more than 2000 students had the opportunity to witness first-hand the sporting events that took place throughout the year in the Queen of the Dolomites.
