- Over 3.800 Children and Youth from across Veneto Region involved in 19 meetings organized in Schools and Universities, participation in numerous Sports Events held throughout the year in Cortina d’Ampezzo
- The project will resume in september, with the goal of further strengthening in anticipation of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic event in 2026
With the end of the school year, the first edition of the Schools Project, an initiative by Fondazione Cortina aimed at imparting the values of sports to the younger generation, engaging them more with the territory, and offering them the opportunity to experience the mountains and its events, has also concluded. Launched in collaboration with FISI Veneto and Assi onlus, the project is part of the Milano Cortina 2026 GEN26 Education Program and was developed in close synergy with the Veneto Region.
This year, the Schools Project reached approximately 1.800 children and youth from various educational institutions, from kindergartens to ITS and Universities in the Belluno area and throughout the Veneto Region, through its 19 meetings. Each meeting was a valuable opportunity to introduce the younger generation to the values of sports, the culture of the mountains, and the importance of community participation, also through direct testimonies from young athletes from Veneto in snow and ice sports, who are already Ambassadors of Fondazione Cortina with the “Youth Project”, and contributions from entities and institutions on important life topics. Additionally, over 2.000 students had the opportunity to personally attend the sports events that took place throughout the year in the Queen of the Dolomites.
Building on this year’s success, Fondazione Cortina’s Schools Project will resume at the start of the new 2024/2025 school year with new activities and meetings, demonstrating how it is an integral part of Fondazione Cortina’s continuous effort and commitment to leave a lasting legacy for future generations, contributing to making the mountains an increasingly attractive territory.
