Event scheduled for September 11–12. Sixteen nations competing. Organized by Fondazione Cortina and Bob Club Cortina
Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), September xx, 2025 – The countdown has begun for the IBSF Push World Championships 2025 Bobsleigh and Skeleton in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The event, hosted for the first time in the Ampezzo valley, is scheduled for September 11 and 12 at the Fiames Sports Center, specifically on the newly renovated push track dedicated to Renzo Alverà.
The competition is jointly organized by Fondazione Cortina, the body responsible for major sporting events in Cortina, and Bob Club Cortina, the historic association that has nurtured generations of athletes and promoted numerous international competitions.
The World Championships focus exclusively on the push discipline: athletes must push their sleds on an artificial, ice-free track, with victory going to those who record the fastest push times.
The Cortina races, which will also award Italian national titles, will feature athletes from sixteen nations: alongside Italy, teams will represent Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Germany, Ghana, Liechtenstein, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Taipei.
“After having hosted many editions of the Italian Championships, we are proud to welcome the World Championships to Ampezzo for the very first time, together with Fondazione Cortina,” said Gianfranco Rezzadore, President of Bob Club Cortina. “The ‘Renzo Alverà’ push track has been completely renovated and is now in ideal condition for the national and world competitions this September, as well as for athletes’ off-ice training. It is a fundamental facility for the summer preparation of bobsleigh and skeleton athletes.”
The program will kick off on Thursday, September 11 with training sessions (open in the morning, official in the afternoon). On Friday, September 12, starting at 2:00 p.m., the competitions will take place, with world and Italian titles to be awarded in: men’s two-man bobsleigh, men’s four-man bobsleigh, women’s monobob, women’s two-woman bobsleigh, men’s skeleton, and women’s skeleton.
