The usual autumn meeting of the International Federation wrapped up last week in Geneva, and the new competition season now feels closer than ever.

The parallel giant slalom snowboard World Cup will kick off in China at the end of November before arriving in Cortina d’Ampezzo for the third stage, on 12 December. For the twelfth consecutive year, the Tondi slope in Faloria will therefore host one of the now classic fixtures on the international calendar, with qualifications in the early afternoon and the final under the night sky, immersed in the Ampezzo Dolomites for an unforgettable spectacle.

The organising machine is already at work to prepare the event at its best and welcome the world’s top athletes, both men and women, ready to give the public head-to-head battles decided by hundredths of a second, accompanied by a rich entertainment programme. A new edition that confirms the bond between Cortina and high-level snowboard, and that also carries with it the wealth of skills and experience gained in recent years in organising major international events. In particular, Cortina’s path in snowboard has grown over the years also through, since 2022, the four snowboardcross World Cup stages organised by the Snowboard Club Cortina, with the support of Fondazione Cortina, on the slope later destined for the Milan Cortina 2026 Paralympic races. A journey of approach to the Great Event that made it possible to consolidate skills and organisational capacity, and that reached its culmination in the Paralympic races of last February and March, achieving success and enthusiasm at international level.

This year, with the conclusion of the Milan Cortina 2026 journey, snowboardcross will not be on the programme in Cortina, while attention focuses on the parallel giant slalom World Cup on 12 December. The goal is to put the experience gained in recent years to good use and confirm once again that this World Cup stage is one of the classics most loved by athletes and spectators alike.

So the appointment is for 12 December 2026 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, for the twelfth edition of the parallel giant slalom and to deliver once again the emotions that only sport can give.
